LEAGUE HISTORY

BMRH HISTORY

Originally named BMYA Roller Hockey, the league began in 1980 and was comprised entirely of community volunteers, the same way it operates today. The league also began on the same school grounds where it currently exists but didn't always have a "rink" to play on. During the start up years, the league played its games in the fenced in basketball courts (currently the location of our rink and the parking lot) and later played games at Eisenhower Park. Our home rink was built a few years later, and this is how it all started...

OL'TIME HOCKEY

Back in the 80's there were a lot of wood sticks, plastic blades and quads (no such thing as roller blades back then)
