POW: WEEK 8

*BMRH POW’s are a fun way to highlight the best of the best on a week to week basis. At times, you may have had an amazing performance, or two, but was not selected as a POW. Please do not take it personally, we only get to select one player from each division. Keep working hard and we are sure your name will make it on our list.

We are starting off this POW post to talk about the amazing performances we've seen from players around the league. When it's Playoff-time, everyone turns it up a notch for their team, and we have witnessed some great gameplay this past week. It was difficult to pick one or two POW's to select so we wanted to make sure we call out some of the league's big guns from this past week.

Freshman Division

The Kings may have finished the #4 overall at the end of the regular season but that means nothing once the playoffs begin. We witness a dominating performance from the Kings Lucas Aykaz, and Jase Kavanagh, who will share this weeks honors. They tallied 5 goals on 1st line, and connected on each, together, as one unit. It didn't stop there, they also back-checked and played tough defense against the top scorers in the division. Lucas finished the evening with 1 goal and 4 assists, while Jase connected for 4 goals and 1 assist. The Kings are on to the finals.

Sophomore Division

Owen Pessel recorded 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists) for the Ducks, not bad for a defensemen who goes end to end all night long. Ryan Busk scored 5 goals for the Caps in their victory. Although suffering a loss, and to be a POW, you have to win to get in, we couldn''t leave Jaxon Reedman off our list. What a performance! He showed up and showed out for his team recording 7 points (2 goals, 4 assists). These were just some of the few, and too many others to name. Great hockey - everyone!

With that being said, this week's POW goes to the Ducks Tyler Zak. Tyler has been a dominant force all season long and led the division with 24 goals scored during the regular season. He didn't stop there as he recorded 8 points (5 goals, 3 assists) in the semifinal and helped his team earn a shot at the championship title.

Junior Division

The Avalanche's Jake Pasarella has been improving game in and game out, and earns this week POW honor. Jake recorded 2 goals and an assist this week but it's not always about statistics. Jake is a good teammate on the bench, works hard each shift, and roots on his teammates. You can always catching him skating and shooting around at BMRH watching his younger brother play. Way to go, Jake!
