WEEK 3 RECAP

Ducks 8Sharks 2

After heading into halftime tied 2-2, the Ducks exploded for six unanswered second-half goals to improve to 3-0 on the season. Luke Alarcon led the offensive charge with 2 goals and 1 assist. Michael DelVecchio added a pair of goals, while Hunter Steck and Jake Cohen each chipped in with 2 points (1G, 1A).

Bruins 7Devils 6

The Bruins survived a back-and-forth battle to remain unbeaten. The Devils came out firing, jumping to an early 2-0 lead, but the game was knotted at 4-4 by halftime. In the second half, both teams traded blows until Jayce Vanasco buried the game-winner with 1:40 remaining to lift the B’s to victory. Brendan Hoefenkrieg put on a show with 4 goals and 2 assists, while John Tamm and Aldo Penaloza each added 2 points. In the loss, Tyler Moshes paced the Devils with 4 points (3G, 1A), and Owen Pessel dished out 3 assists.

Stars 9Red Wings 6

The Red Wings mounted a strong second-half push, scoring six goals, but couldn’t overcome the Stars’ balanced attack. Frankie Smart scored 4 goals, while Anthony Menechino added a goal and 2 assists for the Wings. For the Stars, Harrison Nawrocki recorded a 4-point night with a hat trick and an assist, while Luke and Brayden Padula each tallied 4 points (2G, 2A).

Canadiens 9 - Senators 5

The Canadiens picked up their first win of the season behind a stellar performance from Dominic Politis, who turned away chance after chance in net. Jordan Klein powered the offense with 5 points (3G, 2A), while Thomas Pagnanelli added 2 goals and an assist as Montreal improved to 1-2-1. Anthony Commisso recorded a hat trick for the Senators, and Andrew Rapp collected 3 assists in the loss as Ottawa dropped its second straight.

Islanders 5 - Rangers 3

The Islanders climbed back to .500 behind James Esposito, who secured his second win of the season between the pipes. Brooks Matulich and Landon Campana each scored twice, while Isabella DiStephan contributed 2 assists in the victory. Nolan Russo netted a pair of goals for the Rangers.

Oilers 9Capitals 7

Another entertaining matchup capped Tuesday night as the Oilers held off a late Capitals rally to stay unbeaten. Donovan Butler once again led the way with 5 goals. AJ Navarro added a goal and 2 assists, while Zajin Ramirez picked up his fourth win of the season in net for the first-place Oilers. In defeat, Jaxon Passarella recorded a hat trick, and Alex Kute scored twice for Washington.

Ducks 8Mammoth 1

The Ducks stayed perfect, improving to 4-0 and moving atop the standings with another dominant performance. AidenDwojak was outstanding in goal, allowing just one score. Michael DelVecchio and Jake Cohen each netted 2 goals, while Jaxon Dwojak added 2 points (1G, 1A). Ethan Banks scored the lone goal for the Mammoth.

Devils 11Islanders 9

The Devils outlasted the Islanders in a high-scoring showdown to take sole possession of second place in the division. Bobby Micaleski led the way with 5 points (2G, 3A), Tyler Zak recorded a hat trick and an assist, and Sam Stawinski added 3 points (2G, 1A). For the Islanders, Isabella DiStephan posted 5 points (1G, 4A), while Landon Campana scored 4 goals in a losing effort.

Stars 7Oilers 5

In a battle of unbeaten teams, the Stars emerged victorious and took control of first place, improving to 5-0. Luke Padula recorded 4 points (2G, 2A), while Lucas Senicola registered a hat trick. Jack Alvy earned his fifth win of the season in goal. Despite suffering their first loss, the Oilers received strong performances from Landon Butler (4A), Donovan Butler (3G), and Matthew Lin (1G, 1A).

Ducks 7Canadiens 3

The Ducks reached the halfway point of the season unbeaten at 5-0. Luke Alarcon and Michael DelVecchio each posted 3 points (2G, 1A), while Hunter Steck added 2 goals. Aiden Dwojak continued his strong season in net with another victory. For the Canadiens, Thomas Pagnanelli scored twice, and Scarlett Pinset broke up the shutout bid with a breakaway goal.

Bruins 10Rangers 7

The Rangers were extremely short-handed and without their starting goalie, but Lucas Folchetti-Puglin stepped up to fill in so the game could be played — that’s the definition of a team-first player and captain material. Coach, give that kid the “C”! Nolan Russo added 5 more points (2G, 3A) to his impressive season total, while Anthony Russo chipped in with a goal and an assist. But the Bruins’ firepower was too much, as Brendan Hoefenkrieg (4G) and Aldo Penaloza (3G) once again dominated the scoresheet. At 5-0, the Bruins are the team to beat.

Capitals 7 – Red Wings 6

The Capitals earned their first win of the season by closing the game on a 3-0 run late in the second half. JakePassarella recorded a hat trick and an assist, tying the game at 6 before Rocco Marino (2G, 1A) netted the game-winner with 1:51 remaining. Dominick Safuto earned the win in goal. For the Wings, Peyton Paul recorded a hat trick, while Anthony Menechino and Frankie Smart each finished with a goal and an assist.

Blue Jackets 14 – Sharks 9

The final game of the week turned into an offensive showcase, led by a monster performance from Jase Kavanagh, who scored 7 goals and added 3 assists for a remarkable 10-point night. Shane Blinder added 4 goals and an assist, while Thomas Blondel and Truman Kehoe each found the back of the net. Johnny Kossack earned the win in goal for Columbus. In the loss, Mathew Alveari (3G), Michael Bruntvedt (2G, 1A), and Frederick Cirakoglu (2G, 1A) each recorded 3-point performances for the Sharks.
