WEEK 7 RECAP

*BMRH Weekly Recaps may contain material that may be considered offensive, controversial, or triggering to some hockey players. We write things such as "pass the puck!" or "where's the defense?!" in hopes our teams never take it personally. Our recaps are a fun way to display scores from around the league and showcase some of the key performances that occurred throughout the week. Our authors have fun creating this content, and you should too. No animals are hurt nor hockey sticks were are broken when creating these recaps. Apologies in advance for any potential typos, after all, this is being edited by a hockey players...
Ducks 9 - Oilers 5
For the 3rd straight game in a row, and the 4th time this season, the Ducks have ended a victory with 9 goals scored. Owen Pessel led the way recording a goal and 4 assists, while division high-scorer Tyler Zak recorded 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists). Michael Liguori has been keeping close with his teammate in the scoring race as he recorded 3 goals and an assist. It appears the Ducks will finish with the #2 seed heading into the playoffs but they still have a shot at #1. For the Oilers, Matteo Tseretopoulos reached 20 points on the season and leads the Oilers as he scored 2 goals and added an assist. Jaxon Reedman added 2 goals for the Oilers.
Avalanche 8 - Golden Knights 0
After suffering a loss in their defensive battle last week, the Avs repeatedly lit the lamp vs. a short-handed Golden Knights squad. Dominic Safuto earned the 1st shutout at BMRH this fall. Lucas Senicola recorded 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) and now leads the division with 28 points. Rocco Marino scored and added 3 assists while Jake Passarella recorded a hat trick. The Avs slide into the #1 seed with 2 games in-hand on the Golden Knights.
Flames 9 - Devils 4
Records are meant to be broken, and we have a few broken records (since the launch of our new website and stat era in the spring of '22) Congratulations to Quinn Miller (1 goal, 2 assists) for becoming the division's All-Time Points Leader, Marco Tseretopoulos (3 assists) for becoming the division's All-Time Assist Leader, and Michael DelVecchio for recording his 8th victory in goal and breaking the record for most wins as a goalie during the regular season. Thomas Pagnanelli recorded a hat trick in the victory. The Devils William Brucia scored 2 goals, while Ryder Sanon added another and both Elliot Chung, and Sarosh Hasan recorded an assist.
Capitals 5 - Blues 1
We give the Blues a ton of credit here as they were extremely short-handed and showed that they are battle tested as they kept it close all night vs. the red hot Caps. Ashlyn Hite recorded the lone goal on an assist from Michael Shevlin while James Esposito faced shot after shot. The Caps continue the hot streak as Nolan Russo (2 goals, 2 assists) recorded a 4-point game, and is now just 2 assists shy of the division record. Jack Menelly, Jordan Daley, AnthonyRusso, and Isabella Di Stephan all recorded 2 points each.
Avalanche 11 - Jets 3
The Jets jumped on it early and opened the game with a 3-0 lead as Jeffrey Arale scored twice, and Patrick Casserly added a goal and an assist. Unfortunately for the Jets, it was all downhill from there as the Avalanche scored 11 unanswered goals to clinch the Junior Division's #1 seed heading into the double-elimination tournament to see who is crowned Fall Season Champs. Christopher Keane, and Nicholas Liguori recorded 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) each while Leonardo Barsallo received 3 assists.
Devils 10 - Lightning 8
The Devils slide into the #3 seed and will have a rematch against the Lightning in the Semifinals. In this one, SaroshHasan led the scoring attack recording 3 goals, and 2 assists. William Brucia added 2 goals and 2 assists along with Andrew Rapp who recorded 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). Ethan Banks was victorious in goal for the Devs. For the Bolts, Michael Bruntvedt recorded a hat trick and an assist, and Anthony Commisso finished the game with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).
Blues 7 - Oilers 6 OT
Colin Jewels scored his 4 goal of the game (and had 1 assist) to win the shootout for his Blues, and lock up the #3 seed heading into the playoffs. James Esposito played spectacular in net stopping tons of pucks, including the ones in the overtime period and the 1st player in the sudden death shootout. Adam Bermudez had 3 assists on the evening for the Blues. Jaxon Reedman recored 4 points (3 goals, 1 assist) while Connor Miller finished with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) for the Oilers in the loss.
Ducks 7 - Capitals 6 OT
The Ducks end the Capitals 8-game winning streak and take them down in Overtime as Owen Pessel records the game-winner. Tyler Zak scored 2 goals and had an assist while both Brenden Palmer (2 assists), and Michael Liguori (2 goals) finished with 2 points a piece. The Capitals Jordan Daley recorded 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists), and NolanRusso recorded 2 goals and 1 assist. Shane Zuckerman earned his 6th victory in goal this season.
