WEEK 8 RECAP

Jets 12 - Blackhawks 7
The Jets clinch the number 1 seed while the Blackhawks end up with the number 2 seed heading into the playoffs. Sam Stawinski took home the scoring title recording 8 points (5 goals, 3 assists) and finishing on top in the division. Both Jase Kavanagh (3 goals, 1 assist), and Lucas Aykaz (2 goals, 2 assists) recorded 4 points on the evening. Ethan Banks earned his 7th victory in 9 games played as a goaltender. The Blackhawks were led by William Brucia (2 goals, 1 assist), Caden Day (3 goals), and Thomas Pagnanelli (3 assists). These teams could meet again in the Championship, if they both win their next game.
Panthers 17 - Penguins 12
Logan Maslauskas returned to his old self (last season's high scorer) and recorded 8 goals and an assist for the Panthers. Rocco Marino added 4 goals, Ella Kopczynski earned her first victory of the season between the pipes. The Pens Jordan Lass scored 8 goals and ends the regular season with a total of 38. Frank Brown added 3 goals, and 3 assists, while Jackson DiPasquale recorded 4 assists. The Pens finish the season with 6 points and are currently in 5th place.
Lightning 12 - Bruins 10
The Lightning finish the season earning their 4th win against the big bad B's, and this could be the big emotional lift they need heading into the playoffs. Kyle Wilcha scored twice and recorded 5 assists while Hunter Paul ended up with 2 goals and 3 assists. Joseph Braglia added 2 goals and 2 assists for the Bolts. Donovan Butler was held to 2 goals but recorded 4 assists on the evening. James Pelini recorded a hat trick and an assist. The B's have 1 more matchup before their first round bye.
Freshman Division QuaterfinalS
Predators 11 - Sharks 7
The Sharks defeated the Predators in two of three games during the regular the season but the Preds were victorious in the first round of the Freshman Division Playoffs. They jumped out to an early 7-2 lead and never looked back. Christopher Bruntvedt (2 goals, 2 assists), and James Alveari (3 goals, 1 assist) both recorded 4 points in the win. Matthew Foresta added 2 goals and an assist while Jaxon Passarella earned his first career playoff win as a goaltender at BMRH. The Sharks season comes to an end but Nicholas Dempsey had a tremendous season between the pipes. Even in this playoff game he made a ton of saves to keep things close. Hunter Steck led the team with 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists), and John Cusumano recorded a hat trick.
Flyers 12 - Canucks 11
In the battle for 1st place, the Flyers squeeze by the Canucks and clinch the #1 seed heading into the playoffs. Brayden Padula was at it again as he scored 8 goals and finished the game with 9 total points. Nicholas Macko earned another win in goal for the Flyers while both Brian Barrera, and Gavin Kane recorded 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists, each). The Canucks Tyler Zack scored 4 times and added an assist while Mehmet Cirakoglu (1 goal, 3 assists), and Jaxon Reedman (4 goals) had 4-point games. Both teams have earned a 1st round bye in the playoffs.
Bruins 12 - Devils 5
The Bruins Jayden Cohen suited up to fill in as Goaltender and he wins again! He had some major help from leading scorer Donovan Butler who added another 8 goals to his season. James Pelini scored and assisted on 4 others while Landon Butler finished the evening with 2 goals and 2 assists. For the Devs, AJ Navarro led the way scoring 2 goals and recording an assist.
Freshman Division Seminfinals
Ducks 12 - Blackhawks 4
The Ducks took advantage of a short-handed Blackhawks squad and are moving on to the Championship. Matteo Tseretopoulos had the hot hand and scored 4 goals in the game while Logan Kute recorded 7 points (1 goal, 6 assists), Dominic Politis shutdown the Hawks and earned his first playoff victory at BMRH. The Blackhawks players battled all game long and should be proud of their effort. Thomas Pagnanelli led the way recording 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists). Thomas Blondel and Jaxon Dwojak each scored. The Ducks await the winner of the Jets/Predators.
Panthers 11 - Kings 8
Jake Seidman (5 goals, 1 assist), and Logan Maslauskas (4 goals, 2 assists) each recorded 6 points in the vicory. Rocco Marino threw on the pads and earned his first victory as a Goaltender at BMRH. The Kings fought hard being short-handed and just came up short. Elijah Glass scored 4 goals and added an assist while Tyler Moshes finished with 4 points (3 goals, 1 assist). Both teams have 1 game remaining before playoffs and could meet up in the 1st round.
Flyers 10 - Stars 2
The Flyers finish the regular season by going 9-0-1 and earning 19 out of a possible 20 points, 1 shy of the perfect season. Lucas Senicola scored 5 goals on the evening. Nikolas Kossack recorded 3 assists and Brian Barrera finished with a goal and 1 assist. The Stars fall just below .500 and have 1 game remaining on the season.
