WEEK 9 RECAP

Our recaps are a fun way to display scores from around the league and showcase some of the key performances that occurred throughout the week. Freshman Division Semifinals

Jets 9 - Predators 8

The Predators comeback came a bit too late as the Jets move on to the finals. Jase Kavanagh led the way recording 5 points (2 goals, 3 assists). Sam Stawinski recorded a hat trick and added an assist while both Lucas Aykaz (1 goal, 2 assists), and Naveed Kahn (2 goals, 1 assist) recorded 3 points each. Sarosh Hasan led the Preds recording 2 goals, and 3 assists. Christopher Bruntvedt scored and assisted on 2 others while Jacob Sterner recorded 3 assists. 

Stars 12 - Panthers 6

Domenico Cusumano led the Stars to victory as they clinch the #3 seed heading into the playoffs. He recorded 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) while James Esposito earned his 5th victory of the season in goal. The Panthers Jayce Vanasco, and Logan Maslauskas both scored and added an assist each. 

Junior Division Round 1 

Devils 8 - Lightning 6

The Devils move into the winners bracket game as both Luke Padula (2 goals, 3 assists), and Anthony Catanzarita (3 goals, 2 assists) recorded 5 points each. Thomas Primrose earned the win in goal. For the Bolts, Jack Purcell (2 goals, 2 assists), and Kyle Wilcha (3 goals, 1 assist) each recorded 4 points. The Lightning will now face the loser of the Bruins/Devils matchup.

Kings 10 - Canucks 5 

In the last game of the regular season, the Kings played their best game of the season, as they had a dominating performance over the Canucks. Elijah Glass scored twice and recorded 4 assists for 6 total points. Brendan Hoefenkrieg scored 4 goals and Sean Hoefenkrieg played phenominal between the pipes. For the Canucks, LeonardoBarsallo recorded 3 assists, and Mehmet Cirakoglu recorded 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). 

Freshman Division Championship Game 1

Ducks 10 - Jets 8

A very well played hockey game as both teams battled and scored goals back and forth. In the end, it was the Ducks who pulled away late, and Dominic Politis earned the win in goal. Both Christian Lane, and Ginaluca Barone, recorded hat tricks in the big win. For the Jets, Sam Stawinski recored 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists, and Lucas Aykaz scored twice and added an assist in the loss. 

Sophomore Division Quaterfinal 

Stars 9 - Kings 8 OT

After a big win the night before, the Kings got off to a slow start on offense. But boy did they battle back only to come up short in overtime. Brendan Hoefenkrieg had a monster game scoring 5 goals and assisting on 2 others. Tyler Moshes had a 5-point evening scoring twice and tallying 3 assists. The Stars Peyton Paul led the scoring attack totaling 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists). His final assist was to Luca Campana (2 goals), who scored the game winner 7 minutes into the overtime period. The Stars are moving on and will face the Canucks. 

Junior Division Round 2 

Bruins 17 - Devils 11

The Devils were incredibly short-handed but put up a great fight. Kudos to Brandon Catalina for suiting up to play goaltender. Luke Padula had 1 goal, 5 assists while Rocco Avena, had a 5-point evening tallying 1 goal and 4 assists. The B's Donovan Butler recorded 13 points (9 goals, 4 assists). Jayden Cohen added 2 goals, 3 assists in the win as the B's move into the winners bracket. 

Freshman Division Championship Game 2

Jets 11 - Ducks 10

The Jets stay alive and even the best of 3 series to 1-1. Lucas Aykaz scored 5 goals and added an assist for the Jets. Sam Stawinski (3 goals, 1 assist), and Naveed Khan (4 assists) each had a 4-point evening. The play of the game was Joseph Postiglione laying out in the final seconds of the game to block a shot which was headed in the back of the goal. Talk about doing whatever it takes to win for your team! Logan Kute recorded 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists), and Christian Lane recorded a hat trick giving him 7 total goals in this playoff run. We couldn't be happier this series is going to Game 3 as both teams have played their hearts out. We cant wait for the next one as we will crown this season's champion!

Sophomore Division Quaterfinal 

Panthers 12 Predators 6

Logan Masluaskas (3 goals, 2 assists), and Jake Siedman (4 goals, 1 assist), each lit up the stat sheet and recording 5 points games as the Panthers move on to the semifinals. Jordan Lass (2 goals, 2 assists) had 4 points, and Lucas DiPasquale had a goal and 2 assists in the loss.
